BOB’S LABEL:

2006 Sonoma Coast Chardonnay

“I strive to create room in my work for people to make their own personal connections. I choose images and patterns that are both personal and culturally shared. I seek out everyday objects (toys, tools, birds, leaves), to create imagery that expands the object’s commonplace origin. Ideally, this metaphorical imagery will resonate with the observer — creating a variety of insights and interpretations. I often use these motifs over and over in various combinations, compositions and contexts. This repetition, coupled with the inherent metaphors, is in part how I remain engaged in the creative process. My recent work stems from a genuine love and up close observation of the natural world. I am interested in how we as a culture respond to, mediate and depict nature. Plants, weather, organic forms and patterns, by virtue of their potential for symbolic interpretation, have all made their way into my work. Reflections on growth, order, beauty, decay and renewal are represented in my art. It is these efforts that signify an ongoing conversation between myself, the viewer and the world-at-large.”
