2020 The Barrel Climber Sauvignon Blanc

The Barrel Climber

Sauvignon Blanc

SONOMA COASTsonoma county

ALLOCATION LIST: $46.80
RETAIL: $52.00

TASTING NOTES

Our most serious yet equally joyous bottling of Sauvignon Blanc, The Barrel Climber is our aspirational love letter to the varietal itself.

From site and clonal selection to fermentation and ageing in perfectly matched French oak, (the same we use for cool climate Pinot Noir) this cuvée is a labor of love and nary a stop is left unpulled to create the most opulent, exotic cuvée we can every release. Partial skin contact fermentation and a tiny back blending with multiple previous vintages heighten Sauvignon Blanc’s most exotic elements and further broaden the texture.

Explosively perfumed with juicy and ripe nectarine, passionfruit, guava, lychee and pink grapefruit, The Barrel Climber is Sauvignon Blanc at its most seductive. The palate is lush and creamy (at least equal to Chardonnay or Viognier), and the finish is exquisitely long and ultimately refreshing from the natural acidity.

Feel free to pair it with traditionally wine-challenging cuisines (Vietnamese, Thai, Mexican to name a few) and you might be surprised at how well it works thanks to the lively acid structure.

And be sure to grab some quick since we only bottled two barrels worth!
