2017 The Pianist Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir

SONOMA COASTsonoma county

Tasting Notes

Fans of the super popular 2015 Pianist take note – the 2017 was once again sourced from Grand Vent vineyard in the Sonoma Coast Ava, a site very near and dear to Hanna’s heart. This one is pure Hanna Style: moderate alcohol (13.3%), minimal (roughly 17%) new French oak to let the fruit shine through, and a blend of both whole-cluster and destemmed fermentations. All of this adds up to a magnificent expression of this fascinating vineyard.

Pure of fruit and plush of texture, our 2017 The Pianist is positively bursting with Grand Vent’s distinctive sweet tobacco leaf, sandalwood, rose petal and a myriad of red fruit characteristics. Stem inclusion during fermentation along with wonderful natural acidity synergize with a balanced fruity/spicy interplay offering a fresh and tantalizing drinking experience. Dang, this is tasty stuff.

Like all of the 2017 Pinots, The Pianist should drink well early on, but you know we’re going to ask you to sock some away for the future. If you do plan to cellar some, get it soon – we only made 60 cases of this beauty!
