2015 Cuvée Renee Sauvignon Blanc - SOLD OUT

2015 Cuvée Renee

Sauvignon Blanc

SONOMA COUNTY

—  SOLD OUT —

TASTING NOTES

Cuvee Renee shows how much can be done with this wonderful, often overlooked variety. Layered with pink grapefruit, guava and melon aromas and flavors, we love how this wine displays the two distinct vineyards and three different clones that make it the wonderful wine it is.

Dry Stack Vineyard in Bennett Valley (planted to the obscure Italian Rauscedo clone) and Fallenleaf Vineyard on the eastern side of Sonoma Mountain (planted to Sauvignon Musqué and Clone 1) each lend complimentary exotic characteristics to the blend. As usual, we aged a small portion (roughly 10%) in mostly neutral oak barrels for added texture while the rest was raised in stainless steel to preserve the lively, forward fruit and fresh aromas. But this year we added a twist — just shy of 5% of the final blend is from the previous vintage, lovingly barrel aged for a full 15 months to produce unexpected and gorgeously seductive texture and harmony.

Exotic, tropical, floral and fruity, the result is our most complete and compelling SB to date. A must-have for this summer all the way through to the next!
