Tasting Notes

2018 gifted us a wealth of excellent fruit that inspired us to go long on some special cuvées, including this uber-sexy, first-ever Barrel Climber blend of Syrah, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon. While the elements came together like magic, the deep structure begged for an extended sleep in the cellar and there it rested for almost three years – roughly double the time we typically afford our reds. Oh my, was it 100% worth the wait. Those extra months in barrel transformed it into something uniquely supple, harmonious and utterly irresistible.

Seamless from start to finish, the 2018 Barrel Climber Red Blend shows remarkable grace across the palate with ripe cassis, red currant and black cherry followed by a whiff of smoked meat, pepper and sweet spices. Nothing is out of place here. No awkward knees or elbows. It all just flows. Next-level, high-roller wine right here!

And yes, even after talking about how delicious this wine is already, we are of course going to tell you that the best is yet to come. Buy some for now, save some for later.
