2012 Sascha Marie Pinot Noir

2012 Sascha Marie

Pinot Noir

SONOMA COASTsonoma county

—  SOLD OUT —

TASTING NOTES

After a brief hiatus in 2011, we are extremely pleased to reintroduce a Sascha Marie Pinot to our lineup! Reminiscent of 2010, Sascha’s is once again a bold Pinot Noir, dark ruby in color with muscle and depth to spare. That said, all the 2012 Pinot are showing a bit more structure and potential for greater longevity than their 2010 brethren.

Savory black fruits are center stage here, mingled with baking spices, black tea, tobacco, a hint of forest floor and velvety long tannins. Our goal is to blend Sascha’s for the cellar and we firmly recommend laying this down. If it's any indication, our 2009 is only just now entering it's prime drinking window. While tightly wound at this stage, go ahead and try one early if you like (with a bit of air in the decanter first), but rest assured that you will be amply compensated for a couple year's patience. We look forward to celebrating its evolution each year for at least the next 6-8 if we can save enough that long!
