Chardonnay
RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY
Club Pre-Release: $30.25 |
Retail: $40.00
Tasting Notes: The 2008 vintage Russian River Valley Chardonnay is a lighter, whiter gold than in the past, nearly pale straw in color. Unmistakable in its likeness to the ’07, yet brighter with more elegance and verve. Aromas run the fruit spectrum from apple and melon to apricot, mango and a touch of citrus, all lifted by a seductive floral note. The palate echoes apple, then builds with flavors of poached pear, white peach, candied lemon-peel, a hint of honey and a subtle kiss of oak. This is a rich and luxuriously textured wine, but with plenty of acidity and freshness to keep it lively through a long and satisfying finish. Perfect with cheeses or a hearty cream sauce.
